Our story
An independent café on Sutton Road.
Sweetfields is a café and kitchen in Wylde Green: food made here, Italian coffee, and a room that opens up far beyond its corner frontage.
The room
Bigger inside than it looks.
From the pavement Sweetfields is a corner with tables outside. Step in and the room keeps going: past the counter, along a wall of paintings by local artists, to a piano at the back.

It is a place to sit down properly, whether that is a coffee on the way to work or a long lunch with friends.
The window tables
Light from Sutton Road, for a quick coffee or a slow breakfast.
The counter and deli
Coffee, the day's bakes and shelves of things to take home.
The wall and the piano
Paintings by local artists, and a piano at the back of the room.
Art & community
Local artists on the walls, workshops at the tables.
Sweetfields hangs work by artists from nearby and hosts hands-on workshops run by local makers, from dot painting to portrait sessions.
What Sweetfields is about
- 01
Made in our kitchen
Breakfast, brunch and lunch, cinnamon focaccia, pastries and cakes are prepared here rather than bought in.
- 02
Italian coffee
Caffè Molinari, made one cup at a time, from the first espresso of the day to the last.
- 03
A room for the neighbourhood
Local artists on the walls, workshops at the tables, and room to stay a while.
The kitchen
Freshly prepared, every day.
The kitchen makes breakfast, brunch and lunch, and bakes through the day: cinnamon focaccia, loaves, pastries, savoury bakes and cakes. What is on the counter depends on what came out of the oven.
